Purchase products from vendors such as food ingredients (produce, dairy, fish, meat and poultry), beverages, cleaning products, and other products needed for restaurant operations. Maintain relationships with vendors. Examine product suppliers and determine reliable ones to establish an efficient network. Assess vendors on a number of criteria: price, quality and timely delivery with the power of negotiating skills to ensure right price for best products. Consider the inventory’s needs and availability to determine the best purchase order for any given product. Communicate efficiently with employees and management to identify product needs. Timely handle problems of products and ensure fastest return and exchange or refund.
